Martha Biggar, along with husband Ed, has over fifty years of experience working with glass, and twenty-five years of experience with jewelry.   Martha earned a BFA in design in the early 1980s from Virginia Commonwealth University, and began concentrating in jewelry in 1992, switching to silver jewelry in 2000. Later she added bronze, copper, and glass as her jewelry media.

Martha is as passionate about teaching and sharing her knowledge as she is creating new and exciting works.  She experiments and writes prolifically.  Currently she is working on an article for the online magazine, Metal Clay Today, and a how-to project for Cre8tive Fire, another online magazine.  Martha and Ed both travel and teach; 2019 marked their fourteenth year teaching at the Bead and Button Show in Milwaukee; other venues include Santa Fe, NM, and Las Vegas, NV.

They also teach privately around the country.  

Martha regularly exhibits her work, including as a member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild based in Asheville, NC.  Besides making time for their own artwork, the couple maintains several horses, mules, and donkeys on their farm in Draper, Virginia, along with several types of specialized produce, including figs and asparagus.
